Join Us in Building Minds: A Book Drive for a School Library in Asosa, Rural Ethiopia
Imagine a classroom in the remote highlands of Asosa, western Ethiopia. Bright, eager children arrive every morning, ready to learn, but when it’s time to read, explore, or dream beyond their village… there are almost no books. The school has walls, desks, and dedicated teachers, but the library shelves stand empty.
We can change that—together.
We are launching a book drive to create a real, thriving library for a school in Asosa zone, Benishangul-Gumuz region, rural Ethiopia. Every book you donate will become part of these children’s daily lives: their first chapter book, their introduction to science, their window to the world.
What we need most (new or gently used):
• Children’s storybooks and picture books (ages 4–14)
• Easy readers and chapter books
• Books in English (the language of instruction in Ethiopian schools from Grade 5 onward)
• Educational books: science, math, health, geography, history
• Reference books, dictionaries, atlases
• Teen/young adult novels (especially inspiring stories, biographies, adventure)
• Amharic or Oromo children’s books (if you have them—highly valued!)

Books should be in good condition—no torn pages, no heavy water damage, nothing with outdated or insensitive content.
